I'm having a little experiment with needlework on a plastic stramien. I guess when you work on a plastic grid/stramien it's called tappestry but because I didn't work with tappestry stitches, but just with a cross-stitch, I can't name it like that.
How simple it seems, it takes time to find a way to get the stitches right, work need and to get the pattern/motif you want. But if you get the rhythm it's a real nice job to do! I started with a try out, just an exercize to work with this technique and material. What I really want, and trying.. you will see later! Have a nice day..

I finished up the patchwork vintage blanket. And I'm real happy with it. It turned out exactly like I wanted. It took me quit a while to collect all these fabrics, and again it took a while to have a good combination to work with. I wanted to combine sweet vintage, with retro vintage and that worked out perfect.
I only used one piece of fabric that is new and all other fabrics (like fabrics but also bedsheets and curtains) are old and vintage. The back is made from a sweet, vintage bedsheet with little roses on it. I love the fabric with the brown, orange retro flowers! That was such, such a beautiful fabric! Really old, so I only could use the good parts. But what a perfect fabric that was!And this one will go in the my etsy shop but later this week, or next week. After two months on etsy, my experience is that updating the shop is a lot of work. A lot of work! So I update the shop if I have more items.
I'm the collecting type.. Mainly I collect books, words and good quotes, vintage tableware, retro suitcases, enamel, fabrics, yarn, wool blankets, clothing and bags.. Name it and I have it! I like to check my bookcabinet like a library and choose a book to read. I love it to work on different craft projects at the same time and I can choose what to do, what material to work with.
So it was truely a big bummer, while working on my Pure blanket I started two weeks ago, that I don't have enough thread!!! That never happened before! So I have to wait till Saturday for the market to get new tread, in the same color.
But as said, I'm the collecting type, and the type to work on more projects at the same time. So instead of sewing, some new crochet work. And what a colourbomb that will be!
I guess here is a resemblance between people and animals. In this case between me and my Bowie. But maybe I have to say, that a pet is like it's owner... Bowie loves the sun, like I do. She's really sunbathing and when the sun is moving out her basket, she looks at me the whole time so I will move her basket into the sun again. Like me.. I can sit on ten different places on a terrace, just moving with the sun. Hope you enjoy the sunny weather too, this weekend (if you have sun, otherwise I still hope you enjoy the weekend!)!

I love, love, love to work on my patchwork projects! It's something I could do all day. Searching for the right vintage fabrics and the right blankets, combine colours and patterns and make something, out of nothing. Here's another blanket project from the PURE line. Hope to finish this one, the one I started last week and some others within two or three weeks to add in the shop.
But for today, no sewingmachine, no nothing.. just a day off! Heading over to my parents, crash down on a seat in the garden, with a book (or some crochetwork...) and won't come off untill it's evening. Enjoy, enjoy the sun!!
This early morning, I had an appointment in Amsterdam. I always (okay, if possible but mainly I manage) combine car trips with a stop at the thriftstore nearby my appointment or on the way back. Today was a good day. Scored two fantastic retro motif bowls and this hugh (40 x 70 cm), old vintage paper suitcase. I love these but suitcases but am pretty strenuous. Some are too damaged, not real vintage but a copy, not the right colour.. So this my second, perfect one I found. And one with a real story. There is still a part of a trainsticker on it from the 'Express freight train'. I wonder which places it has seen, in who's hands it was held..
Internet is good and my mail seems fine too! I think I have my phoneline back, now I only have to wait for a new cable for the tv and then that one will work too again. Changing from network/provider needs patient..
I finished a cushion order yesterday and then started this vintage patchwork project. A project I wanted to do for a long time now, but I had to collect the right vintage fabrics. Came pretty far but it's not done yet. Keep you posted on this one. It will be great!

I'm pretty busy at the moment.. so no much time for crafting but because my Internet and email were off the last couple of days, I had more time! And I could finish two projects... One laptop bag I sewed a while ago but it needed a good line on it. And I finished a necklace with grey felted balls alternated with grey wood and 'fake' pearls/silver balls.
Yeahh, I know, two complete different items!!! They don't match in one post.. but I have so much projects that I'm finishing when I have the time, so it's all about chaos at the moment! hahaha..
My Internet/email was off because I got a new provider. It's not working perfect yet but I have Internet again! So I'm sending out a mail to everybody who's in my adressbook, and for everybody else it's: handmaidliset@tele2.nl
After writing friday's post, I had so much energy I had to lose, so I started this quik sewing project. I have a lot of this cheap handkerchief lying around with this pretty vintage look (they are not vintage!! just look-a-like). Bought those a long time ago to make a quik 'patchwork' blanket out of it. Started to work on it also a long time ago but each of these handkerchief is so crooked, so making it into nice patchwork isn't possible and because I'm a perfectionist, I stopped.
But friday I thought, what the heck.. Just loose the energy! Just sew everything together. No measuring, just sewing.. And indeed, perfect to loose some frustration, bad energy and get good energy back! And the result is pretty nice, I guess!

I wanted to design another model necklace. One with just one string in the neck and a lot of strings at the front. Came up with this model.. As you can see the back has just one string beads which is made on elastic, so that fits around everybody's head. I only used water-fire-sky-earth colors like green, brown, red and blue.. And as always a 'bright tough' which, in this case , is a purple ball between it.
I finished up this necklace a while ago but forgot to show you. And this week, I didn't do anything crafty at all... A lot is going on here, for a while now, and I can't tell you about it. Some things are really nice and I wish I could share it with you. Some things aren't nice at all, and I wish too, I could share that. Just throw out some frustration and pain but I can't do that. I don't like it, to be limited in my words but this is Internet and telling you what's going on and how I feel about it all, can be read by the wrong people. But some day, I hope soon, I have my 'freedom' in words back and I'll tell you all!!!
