No title

As always, I'm working on multiple things at the same time. Not only in crafts but in general life too. But I more and more believe that this is me. Very new is how I manage to stand still in between, so far. Take my time, think about something, reflect or just chill. Amazing how taking time, gives more time..

Zoals altijd, werk ik aan meerdere dingen tegelijkertijd. Niet alleen tijdens het handwerken maar ook gewoon in het leven. Maar meer en meer geloof ik dat ik dit ben. Wel erg nieuw is hoe ik, tot zover, steeds meer in staat ben om tussendoor stil te staan. Mijn tijd te nemen, ergens over na te denken, te reflecteren of lekker te chillen. Bijzonder hoe het nemen van tijd, meer tijd geeft..
Dit is een foto van één van de haakprojecten waar ik mee bezig ben. Geinspireerd door de versie van Myriam. Wat het is? Dat kan je zien, toch? Of niet? And as promised, the complete finished blanket. Made with 100% cotton (brown, orange, white, aqua and dark blue, dark green and three blocks mint green) size 75 x 110 cm.


En zoals nog beloofd, de complete deken. Gemaakt van 100% katoen (bruin, oranje, wit, aqua en donker blauw, donker groen en drie blokken mint groen), maat 75 x 110 cm.

Hurry but sneak..

Ohhh I'm in a hurry to get in the car (to get stuck in friday traffic but oke...) and spend the weekend with friends but I need to show you the blanket! Here's a sneak! Sunday I will show you more pictures!

Made this blanket a few months ago but I made a mistake while joining the blocks together. And that made me put the blanket aside until this weekend when I started again. I pulled the joining thread out and started over again. Now the blocks are joined together perfect and I'm almost done with sewing in all the loose threads. Show you the result soon! (these pictures are from the back, here you can see how I joined all the squares together)

Ik had deze deken al een paar maanden terug gemaakt maar maakte in een fout tijdens het aan elkaar zetten van de vierkanten. En daar baalde ik zo van dat ik de deken aan de kant heb gelegd, niet meer naar gekeken tot afgelopen weekend. Ik heb alle draden waar ik de vierkanten mee had vastgezet uitgehaald en ben overnieuw begonnen. Nu zitten alle vierkanten perfect aan elkaar en ben ik bijna klaar met het wegwerken van alle losse draadjes. Ik zal snel het gehele eindresultaat laten zien! (sowieso is dit de achterkant, op de foto's, waar je kan zien hoe ik de vierkanten aan elkaar heb gemaakt)

Weekend Happiness

Beautiful September weather this weekend. It gets me in a chill-mood. Bought 20 hugh stems of purple, blue Gladiolus on the market yesterday for the ridiculous price of 1 euro. Doing some crochet on the (roof) terrace but lost the goal while crocheting. Either this will be a new neckaccessoire or it will be a tablerunner (is that correct said?). Don't now yet! What do you think?

Erg mooi September weer, het weekend. Ik krijg er een erg relaxte bui van. Heerlijk! Gister 20 giga grootte paars, blauwe gladiolen gekocht, op de markt, voor de belachelijke prijs van 1 euro. Wat aan het haken op het (dak) terras maar verloor het einddoel onderweg. Of dit wordt een nieuwe nekaccessoire of een kleine/grote tafelloper. Dat weet ik dus nog niet! Ben aan het twijfelen geslagen. Wat vind jij?

HandMaid Liset Hilarious

Yesterday, I got this super-sweet postcard from my friend. It's card with the star-system on it, with explanation. And I had to do as the card said.. Lie on the ground, held the card high and learn to analyse the stars. And as my friend wrote on te back, take a picture and then it will be HandMaid Liset Hilarious! So here is it J! And although you see no stars, there were stars and I could see the big polestar! Thanks J. So sweet!

And I started a new crochet project! Hope to show a bit more in the weekend.

Gister kreeg ik een super lieve kaart van mijn vriendin. Het is een kaart met het sterrenstelsel erop, en uitgelegd. En ik moest doen zoals op de kaart stond.. Op de grond liggen, kaart boven m'n hoofd houden en dan leren om de sterren te analyseren. En vriendin J. had op de achterkant geschreven dat ik daar een foto van moest maken zodat het HandMaid Liset Hilarisch zou worden! Dus dat heb ik gedaan! En ook al zien jullie geen sterren, die waren er wel degelijk en ik kon er ook echt de grote poolster uithalen! Bedankt J. superlief!

En ik ben begonnen met een nieuw haakproject. Hoop het weekend wat meer te kunnen laten zien.

'Natural' Business

Some variations on my businesscardmap.. Besides the coloured ones I made some in ecru with vintage, brown or wooden buttons. Pure and natural. One button, two buttons, buttons for decoration, one loop or two, long and tall loops. Love to experiment with this project!
Wat variaties op mijn visitekaartjesmapje.. Naast de gekleurde heb ik er nu ook een paar in ecru gemaakt met vintage, bruine of houten knopen. Puur en naturel. Een knoop, twee knopen, decoratieknopen, één lus of twee. Heerlijk om van alles uit te proberen met dit project!

Businesscard maps

I made some businesscard or creditcard maps. I wanted them to be perfect flat, so I left out the seam and made them in the 'round'. So it's a flat map, and businesscards and creditcards fit perfect! I'm selling these in the shop.

Something different... This week I needed some information about the 'Cradle to Cradle' principle. Are you familiar with this? If not, you can read the explanation here. And then this story..

'A company has developed the first biodegradable T-shirt on the world. The T-shirt contains no harmful chemicals. Moreover, the composition of the T-shirt is save for the skin, including for people with allergies. The T-shirt is made of entirely organic materials. The fabric, yarn and label with washing instructions are made of 100% organic cotton. The fabric is treated with natural dyes that do not contain harmful chemicals. After using the T-shirt, it digests within half a year on the compost heap and provides valuable nutrients. This way the cycle is closed.'

I think these are very, very good developments. Hope more and more products will be durable (not only through C2C), and all componies have eye for our environment and people on our planet!

Ik heb een aantal visitekaartjes en/of creditcards mapjes gemaakt. Ik wilde dat ze perfect plat zouden zijn, dus ik heb gezorgd dat er geen naad in zou komen, en heb ze 'rond' gemaakt. Nu is het dus een super plat mapje. Visitekaartjes of creditcards passen prima! Ik verkoop deze ook in de winkel.

Iets heel anders.. Ik moest deze week wat informatie hebben over het 'Cradle to Cradle' principe. Ik weet niet of je het kent, anders moet je dit maar even lezen. Maar dan dit verhaal...

"Een bedrijf heeft het eerste biologisch afbreekbare T-shirt ter wereld ontwikkeld. Het T-shirt bevat geen schadelijke chemicaliën. Bovendien maakt de samenstelling het T-shirt huidvriendelijk, ook voor mensen met allergieën. Het T-shirt is gemaakt van volledig organische grondstoffen. De stof, het naaigaren en het label met wasvoorschrift zijn gemaakt van 100% biologische katoen. De stof is behandeld met natuurlijke kleurstoffen die geen schadelijke chemicaliën bevatten. Bizar toch? Maar ook zulke goede ontwikkelingen, denk ik. Ik hoop echt dat steeds meer producten duurzaam gemaakt gaan worden, en bedrijven steeds meer rekening houden met onze mensen en aarde!

Hawai flowers, winners and a (dutch) shop

It's been a few days since I was here! So Hi there, all of you! How are you? Here is everything fine! I'm getting more and more adapted in real life again! How nice that is! And it was my birthday, last Sunday but I didn't celebrate because I want to have a drink with my friends but they are all having babies now! So I postponed the celibration date. What doesn't mean I'm really a year older now.. pfff..

This morning I picked the winners of the Bracelet give away! It's the second time that a namesake is winning! Bizar! Lisette, congrats! And Maartje won too. So please mail your adress and the bracelets are coming your way!

In the meantime I worked on some hawai flowers. Pattern found on Sarah London. A nice pattern to work with although my flowers are curling a bit. So working on that!





Het is alweer een paar dagen geleden dat ik hier was! Dus Hallo, allemaal! Hoe gaat het met jullie? Hier is alles prima! Ik raak steeds meer gewend aan het 'echte leven'. Hoe fijn is dat! En ik was afgelopen zondag jarig maar heb het verder niet gevierd. Want ja, een wijntje met vrienden wordt lastig als ze allemaal baby's krijgen nu! Dus dat heb ik maar iets uitgesteld. Al houdt dat (helaas) niet in dat ik nu toch echt een jaartje ouder ben.. pff..

Vanmorgen heb ik de winnaars van de Bracelet give away getrokken! Het is de tweede keer dat een naamgenoot wint! Bizar! Lisette, gefeliciteerd! En Maartje heb ik er ook uitgetrokken dus mail me jullie adres en dan komen de armbanden eraan.

In de tussentijd heb ik een beetje zitten werken aan wat Hawai bloemen. Patroon gevonden bij Sarah London. Leuk patroon om mee te werken, al gaan mijn bloemen ietsje krullen dus daar moet ik nog naar kijken.

Over mijn winkel/shop.. Ik probeer het hier uit te leggen. Een tijdje terug heb ik hostruimte gekocht en mijn (domein)naam laten vastleggen. Maar een website inclusief winkel bouwen dat kan ik echt niet. Ik werk hiervoor samen met een grafisch vormgever en webmaster maar dan nog is dat niet zomaar klaar. En er komt een dag dat ik kan uitleggen waarom dit zo lang duurt.

Maar omdat er zoveel vraag is naar mijn items heb ik zelf een 'tijdelijke shop' gemaakt. Ofwel gewoon een blog met wat van mijn producten erop. Op mijn website en in mijn toekomstige webshop krijg ik betaalmogelijkheden maar op deze 'blog' nog niet (want dan moet ik daar nu voor betalen en straks nog een keer) waardoor alleen Nederlanders en Belgen kunnen kopen/betalen. Inmiddels heb ik al het één en ander erop staan en er komt nog wat bij, dus kom vooral eens kijken! En als je vragen hebt, mail me dan!

Neck accessory

Two weeks ago I showed you a new scarf I designed. That's a straight (rectangular) scarf and very long. It's a real outside scarf. I wanted to design one to be worn inside the house, as a fashion accessory. So this one is much smaller and has a complete different shape and edging. And it has a way to fasten it, but this one not yet. I love it that it can be worn in different ways. Tight around the neck, loose, over one shoulder or just hanging. This one is sold already but I'll soon make a new one for the shop.



Furthermore, it's a busy week. I'm working hard on the temporary shop (lots of delay here), work started again and around me, babies are coming so lots of visites to do. Friend E. has delivered a beautiful son and friend T. and D. got a beautiful daughter. And everyone is healthy (again)!
And me.. I'm getting my mouth a bit healty again.. After more then four years I finally made an apppointment with the dentist this week. I'm so *piep proud of myself! I make 'to do' lists and 'make an appointment with the dentist' is written over about 800 times. And that's no joke! I'm sooooo scared of the dentist. Only making the appointment gives me sleepless nights. And the last time, he set a temporary filling in one of my teeth. I had to come back so he'd make a crown for that one. I'd never came back... For four years I just ate at the other side of my mouth. Meanwhile more has been damaged and the treshold is getting higher and higher. But this week I finally made an appointment. And oke, it's with a dentist were you can have narcosis, and that's going to cost me a big fortune, but that doesn't mather, I'm going! *proud!!
